Or seduces one into a journey, far from the route of the everyday.\r\n\r\nAnd one leaves unsatisfied. The hunger gnaws. Somewhere just outside the <\/span><span style=\"color: #808080;\">field ofvision, somewhere just beyond the groping imagination, somewhere in <\/span><span style=\"color: #808080;\">the depths of things read\/seen\/felt\/touched lies an answer. But not here. <\/span><span style=\"color: #808080;\">No, not here. \r\n\r\nSo. \r\n\r\n\u2018My eyes . . . return to seeing what I remember\u2019 . . .<\/span><span style=\"color: #808080;\">(Ralph Lemon). \r\n\r\nAnd the seed of this issue is sown. Magic of memory. The image.<\/span> <span style=\"color: #808080;\">The idea. What is dramatic. What becomes theatrical, what even becomes theatre. <\/span><span style=\"color: #808080;\">Where we look, what we mine, where we root and dig and\r\nwhat we find. Above all,<\/span> <span style=\"color: #808080;\">what we find. \r\n\r\nWhy this, not that? Sometimes the sheer rhythm, the timing, <\/span><span style=\"color: #808080;\">the silence, the words not spoken. Sometimes the light and the way it moves or makes us remember the possibilities<\/span> <span style=\"color: #808080;\">of the way it moves. \r\nSometimes the knockout breathgasping visual. Sometimes a<\/span> <span style=\"color: #808080;\">soft nudge, sporing memories and images.\r\nAnd always, the knowledge that this is<\/span> <span style=\"color: #808080;\">not all. There is always more. Down that road, on that shelf, in that corner, outside<\/span> <span style=\"color: #808080;\">that window. Always one more nugget of magical creativity to break and make <\/span><span style=\"color: #808080;\">one anew.\r\n\r\nFinding(s). \r\nBoth the noun and the verb. \r\nBoth the journey and the stops along the way.\r\nIs what this issue is about.<\/span><\/pre>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Findings.
