Library
The
Seagull Arts and Media Resource Library with its integrated
database for easy access to material, is a store-house of
books from all over the world; and archive and a data bank
for arts research, with its in-house viewing and listening
facilities for films and tapes-audio and video. In addition
to books, journals, films and music, the library is also
building up a collection of arts documentaries, recordings,
interviews with authors artists, film and theatre personalities,
slides and photographs and original works of art. This has
been pursued with the specific aim of extending theoretical
and creative horizons by providing access to examples of
art in the various media-theatre, cinema, art, photography
etc.
The
library offers a daily and an annual membership scheme to
avail of the resources. Everything is accessible and use
is not only encouraged it is actively offered to institutions
and individuals as resource for illustrating their own lectures
and workshops or classrooms. The resource centre networks
actively with other cultural organizations and libraries
to offer the maximum possibilities for all our users.
Through
the regular programmes, workshops, screenings, debates,
seminars, and exhibitions we offer regular use of materials
in our collection for our fraternity of users.
