     BORDERS AND BEYOND
         INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITION OF PHOTOGRAPHS

       Flight across borders as the only means of escaping dire
       poverty. Borders that can only be crossed with special
       military permits. Xenophobic slogans on the other side
       that stamp immigrants as undesirables. Traces of illegal
       escape routes. Ten reports by photographers from        several countries and continents present deeply moving        images of people and borders, of infringement, expulsion        and discrimination.

If I stare at the country long enough I can prise it off the paper, lift it like a flap of a skin.

Sometimes it's an advent calendar- each city has a window which I leave open a little wider each time.

India is manageable- smaller than my hand, the Mahanadi River thinner than my lifeline.
