EPOCH

The white bird was seen flying
Across the sky, wings outspread
As if to encompass the whole world
Under its cool, peaceful shade.
Flying from one country to another
Spreading the message of love
Carrying the message of peace
In its heart, flew the white dove.
A sudden noise and the bird
Soared down in spiral coils.
Leaving the deep blue sky for
The ground, filled with human spoils.
The sudden noise awed the world
As all the glassy dreams shattered.
Rivers of blood flowed over
Corpses that remained scattered.
The little infants were put to sleep,
The elders ruthlessly killed.
As nuclear beams were showered
And no miracles left as shield.
Young faces smeared with tears and blood
Tried their best to save
But a shower of bullets saw them stagger
And fall beside their grave.
All turned into None, and none was all
That was left of this beautiful Earth.
When the noise ceased and the smoke disappeared
A new entity took birth.
It was then that all was calm and quiet
A tranquil place was this:
When all was gone, when nothing was left
It was then that we gained ‘Peace’
