In the area of Social Concern

Seagull believes in the arts as a form of social and cultural expression, growing out of the reality of the times, and, as such, part of ongoing history and current affairs. In support of progressive and pluralistic thinking of equality across gender, caste and religion, some milestones in the area of Social Concern are :

· initiating a broadbased signature campaign against the Babri Masjid demolition

· collaboration in an anti-nuclear workshop and march along with other NGOs
  and women's organizations.

· Participation in the activities of the Fortnight Protesting Violence Against Women spearheaded by women's groups in Calcutta.
